Flow

Our Process

Using website development as an example, here is how a project runs from first contact to post-launch operation. System development, app development and photo or video shoots follow the same path: consultation, proposal, production, review and delivery.

FLOW

From inquiry to launch

  1. Inquiry and consultation

We ask about your goal (more inquiries, recruiting, and so on), your target audience, reference sites, budget and preferred launch date. Nothing needs to be decided yet; we start by working it out together.

  2. Proposal and quote

We propose a page structure (sitemap), scope of work, schedule and quote. If you also need photography, video or a logo, we offer package plans. Once you are happy with the proposal, we sign the contract.

  3. Structure and copy

We create wireframes that define what goes on each page, and prepare the copy. Clients usually supply the text, but we can also turn your bullet-point notes into finished copy.

  4. Design

You review the home page design first. Once the direction is set, we design the remaining pages. This is the most efficient stage for making changes.

  5. Coding and CMS setup

We turn the design into working pages and check them on smartphones, tablets and desktops. We build in a CMS so you can update news and blog posts yourself, and create the contact form.

  6. Review and launch

You review every page on a staging URL, we make final adjustments, and the site goes live. We configure the domain, server and SSL, search engine settings, Google Analytics and Search Console, and, for redesigns, redirects from the old URLs.

  7. After launch

Launch is only the beginning. We improve pages based on analytics and keep news and articles up to date. Alongside maintenance and update support, we also offer SEO and MEO consulting.

SCHEDULE

Typical timelines

What determines the timeline is less our production time than the time it takes to prepare copy and photos and to receive feedback. If you have a target launch date, we plan the schedule backwards from it.

  • Small site (3 to 5 pages)

    1 to 1.5 months

  • Typical corporate site (around 10 pages)

    2 to 3 months

  • Large site or e-commerce site, including photography and copywriting

    3 to 6 months

PREPARATION

What we ask you to prepare

  1. Company and service materials

Company brochure, pamphlets, the URL of your current website, and URLs of sites you like.

  2. Source material for the copy

Company details, service descriptions, pricing, customer testimonials and so on. Bullet points are fine.

  3. Photos and logo

Your existing photos and logo files. If we are shooting, we will schedule the shoot date with you.
